This highly palatable feed is widely used as a primary source of diet for livestock. Orchard grass is typically a low sugar feed which is commonly used as a filler in an animal’s diet as it is easy to digest and allows a feeder to dilute alfalfa or timothy rations. Orchard grass is similar to local hay or pasture grass but is specifically grown for animal feeding purposes.
