At Academy Farms, we sell alfalfa, orchard, timothy, and Washington hay by the bale, by the skid, or by the ton, with pickup at our Langley farm or delivery available for a flat $40 fee anywhere within 40km. Our Hay Team can also send you nutritional charts for any type on request, so you know exactly what you’ll be feeding your animals before it arrives.
We grow and cure hay the way we raise our animals: with attention to detail and no shortcuts. Whether you’re feeding horses, cattle, goats, or a backyard flock, we carry a hay type suited to your herd, and our team is happy to talk through which one fits your situation before you buy.

Stock and pricing shift with the season and with each cutting, so we recommend calling or emailing ahead, especially for our alfalfa and blended bales, which tend to move fastest. If a product shows as out of stock online, ask us anyway. We often have more coming in from the next cutting or can point you toward a comparable type we do have on hand.
Ordering hay from us is straightforward. Call our Hay Team at 604-592-2055 or email hay@academyfarms.org Monday to Friday, 10am to 4pm, and we’ll confirm what’s in stock, walk you through pricing by the bale or by the ton, and set up either a pickup time at the farm or a delivery.
If you’re new to buying from us, our team can also help you estimate how much hay your herd will actually need for the season based on animal type, headcount, and how you currently store feed.
Our hay comes off the same 108-acre farm where we raise our water buffalo and bison, cut and cured under the same hands-on standards we apply to the rest of the operation. We watch the weather closely at cutting time, since hay baled with too much moisture is where mould and dust problems start, and we cure each cutting properly before it’s baled and moved into storage.
Once baled, hay is kept off the ground and out of standing water, since bales sitting on wet soil or concrete can spoil from the bottom up long before they’re ever fed out. Keeping bales dry and well-ventilated in storage is what keeps the hay we sell you smelling sweet and free of dust when you open it instead of musty or discoloured.
Delivery is a flat $40 fee for orders of at least one ton, anywhere within a 40km radius of our Langley farm. Smaller orders can usually be picked up at the farm during Hay Team hours instead.

Alfalfa is higher in protein and calories, which suits growing, underweight, or lactating animals. Orchard grass hay is leafier and lower in calories, making it a good fit for easy keepers or animals that don’t need the extra protein. Our orchard/alfalfa blend splits the difference for owners who want some of each.
Yes. Most of our hay types are available by the individual bale as well as by the skid or ton, so you can buy only what your herd needs without committing to a full ton up front.
Our flat delivery fee applies within a 40km radius of the farm in Langley. If you’re farther out, call our Hay Team and we can talk through whether delivery is still possible and what it would cost.
