At Academy Farms, we carry specialty items beyond buffalo and bison meat, including locally made soaps, coffee, soups, honey, organic produce, and heat and eat meals. We built our Farm Market to be more than a meat counter. Alongside our own water buffalo, bison, and heritage pork, we stock a small, carefully chosen lineup of specialty products from local makers and partner producers, the kind of items we would want on our own family’s table.
We keep this lineup tight on purpose. Rather than fill our shelves with anything that will sell, we choose products that are healthy, sustainably sourced, and genuinely local, so every trip to our market feels like a shortcut to eating and living well.
We proudly carry a wide range of local, healthy, and sustainable products that our customers love. Here is what you will find on our specialty shelves right now:
Simply Delish soups are a grab-and-go answer for anyone who wants a real meal without a real production. Each package uses simple, recognizable ingredients and comes together fast on the stove or in the microwave, so it fits a lunch break, a farm tour day, or a weeknight when the last thing you want is a long ingredient list. We stock a rotating selection, so it is worth checking in each visit to see what is new.
This is the one item you will not find anywhere else. Karen makes these tallow soaps and lip moisturizers exclusively for Academy Farms, using tallow rendered from our own water buffalo and bison. Tallow’s fatty acid profile sits close to what your own skin naturally produces, which is why bars made from it tend to feel moisturizing rather than drying, even for sensitive or easily irritated skin. There is no synthetic fragrance load or filler oil doing the work here, just a simple bar made the way soap used to be made, using an animal we raise ourselves. If you have been curious about tallow skincare, this is the easiest and most local way to try it.
We bring in honey and related products from Honeyview Farms, a local producer we trust. Raw, local honey carries trace pollen from the plants growing in our own region, which is part of why so many customers reach for it seasonally, and its natural antibacterial properties make it a favourite for soothing a scratchy throat or stirring into tea. Whether you spread it, bake with it, or just keep a jar on the counter, it is one more way to bring something genuinely local into your kitchen.
Our organic produce selection rounds out a full basket without a second stop at another grocery store. Produce sold through farm markets is typically picked closer to the day it reaches the shelf than what travels through a long supermarket supply chain, which tends to mean better flavour and less time for nutrients to fade. Buying it here also keeps your grocery dollars circulating through the same local and regional growers we work with for our own operations, rather than a distant supply chain.
Some nights, cooking from scratch simply is not going to happen, and that is exactly what our heat and eat premade meals are for. We select options built from real, quality ingredients rather than long lists of fillers, so you can microwave or oven-heat something that actually tastes like it was made in a kitchen, not a lab. Grab one on your way out after a farm tour or a hay pickup and dinner is already handled.
Beyond our buffalo, bison, and heritage pork, our Farm Market carries Simply Delish packaged soups, Buffalo & Bison Tallow Soaps and Lip Moisturizers by Karen, Honeyview Farms honey, a variety of organic produce, and heat and eat premade meals.
Karen makes the soaps and lip moisturizers exclusively for Academy Farms using tallow from our own water buffalo and bison, though the making itself happens off-site in her own small-batch kitchen.
Yes, the produce in our specialty section is organic, and we rotate the selection based on what is in season.
The best way to check availability before you drive out is to call us at 604-592-2055, since our specialty selection can shift week to week depending on what our partner producers have on hand.
Our premade meals are designed to heat and eat, so a few minutes in the microwave or oven is all it takes to get a full meal on the table.
We are open Monday through Saturday, 10am to 6pm, at 23480 40 Ave, Langley Township, BC.
